The Difference Between My Online Phlebotomy Skills 101 Course and Other Online Phlebotomy Courses

By doing a simple google search, you can find pages and pages of Online Phlebotomy Courses. So what makes mine different? Why should someone choose my Online Phlebotomy Skills 101 Course over another one. In this blog post I want to lay out the differences, and what type of individuals may be best suited for this course. 

First let's start off with a discussion of what the majority of Online Phlebotomy Courses are like. Many of these courses are geared to individuals who are learning Phlebotomy for the first time and trying to begin their career as a phlebotomist. In most states, in order to be hired as a Phlebotomist, the employers would like to see these individuals have taken an accredited course, received HANDS-ON experience, and have passed their National Certification Exam. Therefore, if it is your first time, in my personal opinion, participating in an in-person program is very important so that you can obtain that hands-on experience. But of course, it can also be hard to tell which programs offer the best hands-on experience. 

The remainder of these online courses (that do not incorporate hands-on training), are for the most part focused on getting you to pass the National Certification Exam. This is very important, but does not guarantee your ability to perform the skill well. 

This is where my course comes in. My course is focused on SKILL DEVELOPMENT. Yes, I will still give you the basics and overall information you will need to know in order to study for your National Certification Exam. But my priority is ensuring my students understand the finite details about phlebotomy skills that will ensure there success at the ACTUAL skill itself. After working with many different types of healthcare professionals, I started noticing a theme. There were certain details, or aspects of the skill that these healthcare professionals were just simply not aware of. But as soon as I explained and demonstrated the concepts, these professionals were able to improve their skill almost immediately. Most of the time, I realized it does not take much to improve their skills. They were just never given the right information or appropriate technique from the start. And this is due to an overall lack of consistency amongst specialized healthcare skills training. The quality of your skills truly depends on the quality of training that you did or did not receive when you began your career. 

Therefore, the individuals who are best suited for the Online Phlebotomy Skills 101 Course, are individuals who have already begun their healthcare careers, but find themselves struggling with the skill of phlebotomy. These can be nurses, medical assistants, phlebotomists, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, doctors, etc! Anyone who needs to utilize phlebotomy in their course of work can benefit from this course.
